Intellectual Property Policy

This Intellectual Property Policy explains ownership and permitted use of intellectual property related to the MaidServSA application and its operating company, uManzzi.

1. Ownership

  1. The MaidServSA application, including its source code, interface designs, brand assets, documentation, and business methods, is owned by uManzzi unless otherwise stated.
  2. All rights, title, and interest in MaidServSA platform assets are reserved by uManzzi.

2. Company and Product Identity

For this policy:

  • Company means uManzzi.
  • Application means MaidServSA and related services, APIs, and documentation.

3. Trademarks and Branding

  1. The names uManzzi and MaidServSA, along with logos, wordmarks, and branding elements, are protected intellectual property.
  2. You may not use company or product branding in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership, or ownership without prior written permission from uManzzi.

4. Copyright

Unless expressly licensed otherwise, all application content is protected by copyright, including:

  • UI text and layouts
  • Documentation and legal policies
  • Graphics, iconography, and media assets
  • Backend and frontend source code

5. License to Users

uManzzi grants users a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to access and use MaidServSA for its intended purpose, subject to:

No ownership rights are transferred to users by accessing or using the platform.

6. User-Generated Content

  1. Users retain ownership of content they create and submit (for example profile text, messages, ratings, and uploaded files).
  2. By submitting content to MaidServSA, users grant uManzzi a non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content as necessary to operate, secure, and improve the service.
  3. Users must only upload content they have the lawful right to use.

7. Third-Party Intellectual Property

  1. MaidServSA may include or rely on third-party software, services, or assets under their own licenses.
  2. Third-party trademarks and copyrights remain the property of their respective owners.

8. Prohibited IP Conduct

Users may not:

  • Copy, redistribute, or sell MaidServSA platform materials without authorization
  • Reverse engineer or derive source code beyond rights allowed by law
  • Remove copyright or trademark notices
  • Upload infringing content

9. Infringement Reporting

If you believe your intellectual property rights are being infringed through MaidServSA, send a notice to:

  • support@maidservsa.co.za

Please include:

  • Your full name and contact details
  • Description of the protected work
  • Description and location of the allegedly infringing material
  • A good-faith statement and authority statement

10. Enforcement

uManzzi may remove infringing content, suspend access, or take legal action where necessary to protect intellectual property rights.
